Receive hands-on intensive training intended for newly assigned Computer (Digital) Forensic Investigators, First Responders to computer crime scenes and those performing activities that have the potential to require seizing and imaging digital media. This course provides an understanding of digital crime and discusses current challenges faced by Forensic Examiners. Students will outline search and seizure issues and the ideal handling of electronic evidence. The course will finalize with students practicing hands-on labs using FTK Imager and hardware write protected devices to create duplicate images of Hard Disk Drives, USB Thumb drives and other media.

Receive hands-on training to locate and examine Internet Messenger data (chats, profiles, contracts); Browser history from Internet Explorer, AOL and Netscape; User information such as cookies, favourites, temporary files, address books, buddy list, account passwords, sign on passwords, search terms, typed addresses and more!
Receive hands-on training to locate and examine Recycle Bin information, Metadata and OLE items, Link files, Thumbnail files and other Windows artifacts. Learn the forensic value of the NTUSER.DAT, SAM, SYSTEM and SOFTWARE files. Gain access to protected operating system files and open files that have been encrypted with the Microsoft Encrypting File System (EFS).
